Things must be okay in the real estate market in France.
At least that’s the impression I’m getting by the lack of contact from agencies regarding our published list of people who WANT to hear from agents selling property (see HERE).
I would have thought with the market conditions as they are, agencies would be actively chased any and all leads down that they possibly can….maybe not.

Recently we have come across more and more negative publicity about French estate agents. It seems that no-one has a good word to say about estate agents in France, so much so they are even talking about it on the Telegraph newspaper site: post 1 and post 2.
Some very strong words and comments in those posts.
I was extremely incensed by those some of those comments.
Our agency for example goes to incredible lengths to sell property for people, help people to find the right property and to help people to settle in to their new home (all at no extra cost).
Yes, the French system is different from the UK/US system of selling property, and has changed radically (for France) in the last 5 to 10 years and still has some way to go. But is all this vitriole really necessary and justified? I think not.
The majority of agents in France spend a lot of money and time on marketing the properties on their books. Attending exhibitions. Advertising in magazines (at great cost to themselves). Countless hours are spent answering email enquiries like “more information please”.
And aren’t some of the practices talked about in the posts carried out by estate agents in all countries (and in greater numbers)?
So if you know of an agency that goes out of its way to help sell a property for someone or that helps people find the property that is right for them add a comment below with the name of the agency and why you think they are a ‘good’ agency. Isn’t it time we tried to get some good publicity about estate agents in France?
