'La Bastide’ is a traditional turn-of-the-19th Century seaside villa in Le Trayas, on the edge of the Esterel National Park 15 minutes west of Cannes. The house has five bedrooms and three bathrooms over three floors, a swimming pool and a mature garden and can be sold fully furnished if preferred. The villa enjoys stunning sea views, being situated on the Corniche de l’Esterel, the dramatically beautiful coast road from Cannes to St Raphael. The house itself is simple but classic in design. At ground level is a unique triple-aspect living room with two sets of French doors, one leading to the garden and the other to a beautiful terrace. The kitchen was fitted in 2004 and features simple free-standing beech work units and a range-style gas hob and oven. Also on the ground floor is a toilet with wash basin. Upstairs is a double bedroom with fantastic sea view and access to its own airy bathroom with bath and shower. There’s also a big air-conditioned twin room with French doors to a balcony as well as a huge arched window overlooking the sea, a smaller bedroom with twin beds and a guest shower room with wash basin and toilet. Downstairs and accessed through their own separately-lockable door are two more twin bedrooms, one reached through the other and both having access to a guest shower room with wash basin and toilet. Outside is a well-tended, mature garden with orange, lemon, apricot and fig trees. Surrounding the 8m x 4m pool is a teak sun-deck with fabulous views to the medieval fortress islands of Ste-Marguerite and St-Honorat. There’s secure off-road parking for one car as well as a garage which incorporates a fully-tiled laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. A second separate garage offers parking space for a third car. ‘La Bastide’ is a simple house but has been well maintained and stylishly furnished, and it absolutely makes the most of its spectacular location. It can be sold fully furnished, allowing the buyer to enjoy significant rental income immediately if desired. There are high ceilings throughout and all floors are either terracotta or ceramic tiles. There are original fireplaces and glazing, and the rooms are flooded with light. The central heating is oil-fired and the roof of the house was replaced in 2005/6. The house is ideal either as a permanent home or as a holiday home, and if rented out can deliver good income (the house currently rents for 3,750 Euros per week in high season). |
