‘Le Pas des Aigles’ is a pretty stone house that was originally built for a winemaker. Today it comprises 2 gites and separate owners quarters, set in 1.5 hectares of secluded gardens with a pool.
The village is small but with many amenities, including a school, baker, butcher and grocer. The nearest supermarket and chemist are a few minutes drive.
Situated on the edge of the peaceful village of Saugon, 50km north of Bordeaux, and an hour’s drive from Royan, Cognac, St Emilion, Angouleme and Arcachon.
Bordeaux is easily accessed by air from Gatwick, Luton, Southampton, Norwich, Bristol, Manchester, Heathrow and East Midlands, by train via Eurostar/TGV, and we are 10 minutes from the A10 Paris/Bordeaux motorway.

Each gite has 2 double and 2 twin rooms, and a fully equipped kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher. We supply linen and towels for the guests, and an array of baby equipment all free of charge.

The owners’ accommodation has been recently renovated and comprises a spacious kitchen/diner with patio door, huge lounge with woodburner and cathedral ceiling, bathroom with separate bath and shower, 2nd toilet, and 3 loft bedrooms.
Outside there is a private screened garden, a vegetable garden, and plenty of parking space.
There is scope for further renovation; an old cottage which currently houses the gardening equipment could make an ideal studio apartment or granny flat (60m2), there is a large stone barn without a roof, and a further 50m2 in the main house set over 2 floors that is ripe for development.
