This townhouse may not be the biggest house in the world but it would make a great holiday home to relax in. It sits in the heart of Magnac Laval in the north of the Haute Vienne so basic shops (baker, pharmacy, hairdresser, bank, newsagent, supermarket), doctors, and the dentist are all within walking distance and the property is connected to mains water, electricity and drainage.
On the ground floor you enter straight into the living room (13m2) and to the rear is the "kitchen" (9m2) with a sink and fireplace. A door leads out to a small courtyard (10m2) which is covered but the plastic roofing could easily be removed to make a lovely little sun trap.
Up the beautifully curving old oak staircase is a landing which leads to a bedroom (10m2) with a fireplace and small built-in cupboard and the bathroom (5m2) with bath, basin and wc. All of the rooms on this floor have beautiful old wide oak floorboards.
On the second floor is attic space which has been converted to a further room/bedroom. The ceiling has been plasterboarded and insulated but there is finishing off work for you to do including the walls - you will need to decide whether to leave the lovely old stonework exposed or to cover it up! The choice is yours.
The property has been recently re-decorated, including a new roof and although there is a little finishing off work to do on the second floor, it's habitable straight away and is a perfect little bolt-hole in a lovely part of France. |
