Beautiful rural stone cottage located in a small hamlet near Mael Carhaix in central Brittany.Location:
The property is about forty-five minutes south the port of Roscoff and around two hours south-west from St-Malo. The airport at Brest is less than an hour and a half away.
A nice ten minute walk or three minute drive brings you to the village of Mael-Carhaix. Where you will find; two general stores, two bakeries, a pharmacy, a bar-tabac and several cafe/restaurants and a bank. In addition to the impressive church set in the village square there is a school and many other useful facilities.
The town of Rostrennen is about ten more minutes away by car. This small town can provide all the additional facilities you may need, Large supermarkets, DIY shops, petrol stations and clothes shopping etc.
The even larger town of Carhaix-Plouguer is about twenty minutes away.

The main door at the front leads into the spacious kitchen/diner.
The kitchen is equipped with fitted units as pictured. The fridge, cooker, washing machine and other kitchen equipment is included. The double glazed window overlooks the rear garden.
A wooden door leads into the shower room. The shower room currently consists of a pedestal wash basin, toilet and shower cubicle with an electric shower. This room could easily accommodate the addition of a bath.
The washing machine is plumbed in just by the door.

From the kitchen a doorway leads through the metre thick wall to the large lounge with feature multi-fuel stove set into an impressive stone fireplace. This room is large enough to have two large sofas (one converts to a double bed) and a large dining table and chairs. There is a telephone point which could provide broadband internet if you desire it.
An original window faces out to the front of the property and double glazed patio doors lead out to the rear garden.

Set in the roof the bedroom benefits from velux windows on both sides. The room is paneled and is fully carpeted and insulated.
Outside there is a large private garden (1000 sq mtrs), which features mature trees and plants. There are two sheds for storage in addition to the wood store attached to the end of the house.
Additionally there is a two berth caravan which can accommodate additional guests.
We understand the the cottage dates back well over 100 years and was originally used by a family who used donkeys to transfer slate from the old quarry to the narrow-guage railway in Mael-Carhaix.
